Introducing, our sweet girl...

Adalay Marie was born early Sunday at 1:04 a.m., and weighed in at 6pd 11oz with a height of 18 3/4 in. I was so thankful to hold her after the three days of labor (Dustin says it wasn't "real" labor, but it was real enough for me) she put me through. Our experience with the Nativiti Birth Center was awesome and I definitely recommend it to anyone interested (oh, and water births totally rock)! If anyone wants to hear more details, I can talk your ear off about it. For everyone else I will move straight to the pictures...

Hear she is at about 5 seconds old...

I felt one of the best things about the center was the time we had right after her birth to just enjoy her. She was not whisked off to be poked, prodded, measured and weighed. Instead we had plenty of time to feed her, show her off, talk to her, and generally just fall in love with her. It was a very relaxed, pleasant, and sweet time.
My midwife, Katherine, was awesome. She was so calm and encouraging... Gavin was very excited to meet his new little sister...

We are trying to get rid of our perishable foods before the big move, so we started up the grill the other week...

Yes, it is true, the next pictures are so cliche I am almost embarrassed to post them! Everyone with a child under 5 in this part of Texas drags their kids into the bluebonnets for a photo session. We are no exception.



For those of you hassling me about seeing "the belly", here it is. The due date is fast approaching, but I am not putting much stock in it, I do recall a certain little boy arriving 10 days "late"!

My March Blog Post

My excuse for my lack of Gavin centered blog posts: Things have been hectic, stressful, and busy since we learned we are moving!  The house has been on the market for several weeks, and trying to keep it ready for a showing is more complicated then it sounds, mostly because of a certain 2-year. Having a 2-yr old is a blast, really it just keeps getting better! He is SO big now and talking all the time. This week he is very much into horses, and avocados, he can pack away the veggies! He loves to talk about his buddies John and Nate, after his nap he wakes up saying and "John and Nate and Dada and John...". My due date is quickly approaching and right on top of that the movers are coming to move us out of our house, yikes! I am not sure how it is all going to work out...

My biggest concern right now is that with Dustin commuting to Amarillo each week, he may not be able to fly home in time for the babies birth.  We covet your prayers about this!

A boy, sand, and a dog

Gavin loves to explain things and tell stories. Not sure what this story was about but I am sure it was a whopper.


Our dear friend Catherine dropped off some sand for G's sandbox, perfect timing, the weather has been awesome the past couple days and Gavin has spent hours in the sand. Here he is tormenting Skeeter, by throwing sand at her whenever she walks by...

First Hair Cut

Gavin had his first haircut last weekend. I picked a place that catered to kids thinking that would ease the process....
In hindsight I think it was a little too much for him, the singing movie, bubbles, and total stranger approaching with a sharp object did not help.

Both the guys had haircuts that day, although Dustin was not quite as fussy and opted for a different salon (or whatever guys call it).
