Final Post

I have to admit,  I'm a bit sad to be posting my final post to Gavin's Tales. I am moving both my blogs and website to the same site in order to make life just a bit easier. I still plan on posting just as often (hah! that was a joke. I really plan on posting much, much, more). The new blogsite is located at www.thesaltedimage.com.

For our last bit of "A day in the life of G", our trip to the local pumpkin patch.
The weather was less than ideal. Freezing and windy...

Gavin LOVED the corn maze.
Check out the hair, he had some speed going on...

Now please head on over to my new blogsite, www.thesaltedimage.com. And leave me a comment so I know you found it (plus I just really like to get comments)!

Old News

I swear I am working on a new blogsite and that is the reason for the lack of posts! If all goes according to plan the site should go live on Monday...
I will post here one last time when it does.

In other news, here are some pictures from the Tri-State Fair Parade last month.  I up-loaded these backwards and I am being too lazy to switch them around. If you would like to see things in chronological order, go to the end and scroll up!

Gavin loved the candy, he would dart out into the road and risk life and limb just like all the other children...

Good times were had by all :)

A Mini-Trip: Canadian, Texas

We went on a one day trip to Canadian, Texas the other week. The kids did great for the two hour drive and Gavin was more than ready to burn off some energy once we arrived. So I pulled over at a small park at let him play...

Then Daddy arrived...

Later, we stopped to eat at a restaurant. The food was good and Gavin loved all the dead animals that stared at us while we ate (I didn't care for this, why is it we are not allowed to bring in a live animal but it is okay to eat with dead animals hanging all around. I just want to eat them, not look at them all furry and glassy-eyed. Anyway, I digress...).

After dinner we stopped at the Canadian River Wagon bridge.

It was long, we never reached the end and turned back once it was near dark.

There was a right up in the NY Times about Canadian that is a pretty interesting read. Click here to check it out.

Getting Nothing Accomplished

I attempted to rake the yard yesterday. As I raked the bazillions of leaves into a neat and tidy pile Gavin would run through them, jump in them, throw them into the air, and carry them over to Adalay so she could also enjoy them. Because we only had pine needles in Conroe and because this is his first experience with fall leaves. I decided to continue raking with the mindset that I would never accomplish anything. Well, I did not finish the yard but hardly care. We had a ton of fun romping about and playing (and taking a ton of pictures)!

This next image is a metaphor for our times. It shows a lone, vibrant, figure and it's futile resistancein conforming to the masses.
Kidding, it's just a picture of a leaf.

I know I have said this before but I really don't care for posing my kids pictures (although I am guilty of doing it sometimes), however this was not posed. I guess he just wanted an extreme close-up...

Another leaf that deserved it's own picture...
