Our Week: Michiganders, Drunk Drivers, and Fevers

Our good friends Amie Jo and Beckett (We miss you Steven, but we can settle for Amie Jo and B whenever you would like to send them!) arrived last friday for a week long visit with their Texas friends. They have been greatly missed since their move to Michigan last August and it has been a spectacular, spectacular blessing to have them.

After I picked them up from the airport, we stopped to help a driver who had went off the road. The man was very much drunk and was eventually arrested. I was relieved no one was hurt and thankfully he had on his seat belt, but come on people: If you drink, don't drive-it's not rocket science.

Gavin had his first sickness and woke up with a high fever the other day, he has been sickness- free since birth and it hard on us to see him so flushed, congested and miserable. He wanted nothing to do with food but would nurse so it was good to know that he was at least well hydrated! He is on the mend now and ate pretty much all his chicken livers for lunch, nasty, I guess his cold is still affecting his taste buds.

A brief note

So, having today off I decided to start sorting out and packing items that we do not use, in case we decide to move any time in the near or not so near future. Now, I don't want to start any rumours, so to set things straight we are talking about maybe putting the house on the market. In any case I would love to de-clutter...Gavin enjoyed the process and everything I sorted he would promptly unsort. Speaking of Gavin:) he took his first steps the other day and is rapidly improving his balance.
In other news, we have an exciting event expected at the end of the week, I will post some pics then...

Naked Baby Alert

It is amazing how much G has slimmed down since he began crawling. These pictures are from July-August, he was all rolls and chub...

He is fast becoming a sleek, mean, toddler machine. Every baby cliche is true, it does go by too quickly. If you have a little one, enjoy every second. Don't waste time wishing they were out of a certain stage or accomplishing more. Just love every minute...

This one is for Angie...

Or do you prefer "Granny"?He will crawl around the house with a sock in each hand and mouth... I have no idea where this came from but it is quite entertaining.

G's First Christmas

Our first Christmas as parents was, of course, better than any before. Gavin was not sure at first about opening his presents but he got the hang of it eventually, and of course he preferred the wrapping paper and boxes over the gift itself. He should be a pro by the time his birthday rolls around.
We spent the morning at home and the rest of the day at the Craig Clan home (where else in Texas would we go!) Gavin had more gift opening experiences, and loved his stacking cubes(Thanks Kreitzers, you were missed!), toy cars, and new clothes (they were perfect Auntie Carole!).
The highlight of Gavin's day is when he found an M&M on the floor and ate it before anyone could stop him.

We hope everyone had a merry and joyous Christmas, we missed those we could not be with and look forward to seeing ya'll soon.

Gavin busy playing the drums...

I have a lot of pictures I would like to post over the next couple days, we will see if I do a bit better posting in 2008 then I did in 2007. Check back and leave a comment for goodness sake!
