Happy Birthday Sweet Husband!

Today is Dustin's Birthday!

Photobucket

Dustin, I hope you enjoy your day and what we have planned for you! Nothing I plan/buy/do could equal what a great husband, father, son, and friend that you are. You are kind, generous, and easy-going and you are constantly challenging me and the kids to show more of these traits that seem to come so naturally to you. I am so proud of how you take care of our family and how you always trust God to provide. We love you very, very much and hope that your 32nd year is the best yet!!

About Adalay...

I thought Adalay deserved her own post since her big brother has had the market cornered for the past two years. I also just received my long awaited Macro lens, and what could be better then close-ups of baby pieces!

I couldn't decide which baby spit bubble was cuter...

Introducing Cheeks McLean (Part II, her brother had her beat at this age)...
I bought the lens for my photo business, mainly for wedding details. But if you have a macro lens you just have to take pictures of flowers, really, you won't be able to stop yourself...
Holy smokes, you can get close with this puppy!
It feels wrong to not include a picture of G, so here he is helping his Daddy out in the garage.

Headshots

I have a ton of pics I would like to get up from my Mom's recent visit. I was overwhelmed by the number of images I would like to post, so I decided instead to just put up some images from today...
The weather cleared up for the first time in several days and G was able to enjoy a Popsicle.
Adalay is gracing us all with her sweet smiles...

Quick Post

We flew to our new home less then 2 weeks ago. Gavin and Adalay did awesome on the flight. G watched Sesame Street on Dustin's iPod and Adalay slept and ate the whole time. We are still in the process of moving in, unpacking, finding Pediatricians, etc... Please give us a bit of time catch up with everything!!

Introducing, our sweet girl...

Adalay Marie was born early Sunday at 1:04 a.m., and weighed in at 6pd 11oz with a height of 18 3/4 in. I was so thankful to hold her after the three days of labor (Dustin says it wasn't "real" labor, but it was real enough for me) she put me through. Our experience with the Nativiti Birth Center was awesome and I definitely recommend it to anyone interested (oh, and water births totally rock)! If anyone wants to hear more details, I can talk your ear off about it. For everyone else I will move straight to the pictures...

Hear she is at about 5 seconds old...

I felt one of the best things about the center was the time we had right after her birth to just enjoy her. She was not whisked off to be poked, prodded, measured and weighed. Instead we had plenty of time to feed her, show her off, talk to her, and generally just fall in love with her. It was a very relaxed, pleasant, and sweet time.
My midwife, Katherine, was awesome. She was so calm and encouraging... Gavin was very excited to meet his new little sister...
He even asked to hold her...
Daddy full of smit...
Here are some images from her second day of life outside the womb...

I know, I know, she is just perfect, beautiful, and amazing you don't even need to tell me (but you can leave a happy comment for us anyway)!

Bluebonnets and BBQ

We are trying to get rid of our perishable foods before the big move, so we started up the grill the other week...

Dustin lookin' all smoky...

Gavin lookin' all cute...

The meat lookin' yummy...

Yes, it is true, the next pictures are so cliche I am almost embarrassed to post them! Everyone with a child under 5 in this part of Texas drags their kids into the bluebonnets for a photo session. We are no exception.

For those of you hassling me about seeing "the belly", here it is. The due date is fast approaching, but I am not putting much stock in it, I do recall a certain little boy arriving 10 days "late"!

My March Blog Post

My excuse for my lack of Gavin centered blog posts: Things have been hectic, stressful, and busy since we learned we are moving!  The house has been on the market for several weeks, and trying to keep it ready for a showing is more complicated then it sounds, mostly because of a certain 2-year. Having a 2-yr old is a blast, really it just keeps getting better! He is SO big now and talking all the time. This week he is very much into horses, and avocados, he can pack away the veggies! He loves to talk about his buddies John and Nate, after his nap he wakes up saying and "John and Nate and Dada and John...". My due date is quickly approaching and right on top of that the movers are coming to move us out of our house, yikes! I am not sure how it is all going to work out...
My biggest concern right now is that with Dustin commuting to Amarillo each week, he may not be able to fly home in time for the babies birth.  We covet your prayers about this!
