Easter Sunday

I hope everyone had a nice Easter. Our was great, after a very special church service we went to
CraigFest 2 and had crablegs (my favorite!) and lottsa good food. Later Gavin had his first Easter egg hunt...

It was so cute, I seriously wanted to gag! He was wobbling about and putting each egg in his basket, you would think he had done it before. Inside were "puffs" and he enjoyed opening each one...Gavin's smokin' hot Daddy.I have a bunch of pictures I would like to post from the latest couple weeks. If you all feed my need for attention and post some comments I will put them up quicker!

Hammock Time

We have had a couple perfect days thrown into the last week, amid the tornado inducing weather and downpours. On one of those days we went for a walk and had an impromptu jump-roping hammock party at the neighbors house.
Karis and Gavin chillaxen in the hammock...

Trevon is super sweet with Gavin and is always giving him hugs and talking with him. They spent some playtime together last week and when I went to pick him up G was so excited to tell me about everthing they did together, he is getting very adept at using gestures, and inflection while he speaks Gavinese. Here is a bonus picture taken by our good friends...

Who knows, maybe we have a future Aggie on our hands...
Oh, I am also very much late on the birthday pics. Here is a cake shot as promised. Maybe some time before his second birthday I can get some additional images up!

Not Doing So Good...

at this whole blog thing. I'm thinking about combining my two blogs, wouldn't that double my chances to posting to one of them!? :)

So I have tons of pics I need to get up here. Gavin has had his first birthday so I need to post the obligatory cake-shot. His birthday was just about perfect. Everyone was there who was present for his birth, except Mom and Amie Jo (who I have to thank for documenting in pictures-the birth!), hence the "almost perfect" part of the last sentence. It was small and sweet and the kids all played so nicely together.

Angie and Tony were able to stay for the week and spend lots of time with G. Dustin and I took advantage of the free childcare and went out with friends to see U2 3-D, that was fun, I swear some of Bono's sweat got in my eye! We had a great time with our friends Dave n' Gwen that night, I love being around people who like to laugh! We also saw Shake Russel perform, he sings Texas folk-rock, and Gwen really likes him, so we made the trek to Beaumont to watch him perform at a quirky little cafe, good times.

Let me see, what else...We saw the movie Cloverfield, which I loved. I am a sucker for a good monster movie so it joins my list of top 10 favorites. If you see it be prepared to get sick, it is filmed with a hand held camera and I could have used some Dramamine.

Well, this week I will purpose to get some Birthday pics up, and try to post at least twice!

G-pic of the day...

Our Week: Michiganders, Drunk Drivers, and Fevers

Our good friends Amie Jo and Beckett (We miss you Steven, but we can settle for Amie Jo and B whenever you would like to send them!) arrived last friday for a week long visit with their Texas friends. They have been greatly missed since their move to Michigan last August and it has been a spectacular, spectacular blessing to have them.

After I picked them up from the airport, we stopped to help a driver who had went off the road. The man was very much drunk and was eventually arrested. I was relieved no one was hurt and thankfully he had on his seat belt, but come on people: If you drink, don't drive-it's not rocket science.

Gavin had his first sickness and woke up with a high fever the other day, he has been sickness- free since birth and it hard on us to see him so flushed, congested and miserable. He wanted nothing to do with food but would nurse so it was good to know that he was at least well hydrated! He is on the mend now and ate pretty much all his chicken livers for lunch, nasty, I guess his cold is still affecting his taste buds.

A brief note

So, having today off I decided to start sorting out and packing items that we do not use, in case we decide to move any time in the near or not so near future. Now, I don't want to start any rumours, so to set things straight we are talking about maybe putting the house on the market. In any case I would love to de-clutter...Gavin enjoyed the process and everything I sorted he would promptly unsort. Speaking of Gavin:) he took his first steps the other day and is rapidly improving his balance.
In other news, we have an exciting event expected at the end of the week, I will post some pics then...

Naked Baby Alert

It is amazing how much G has slimmed down since he began crawling. These pictures are from July-August, he was all rolls and chub...

He is fast becoming a sleek, mean, toddler machine. Every baby cliche is true, it does go by too quickly. If you have a little one, enjoy every second. Don't waste time wishing they were out of a certain stage or accomplishing more. Just love every minute...
